One man band

Bryson has taken his role as big brother very seriously and he is actually a very big help to me. He loves to take care of Madelyn for me. He is especially helpful in the car when her pacifier falls out of her mouth and he can get it for me! The other morning she started crying and I knew she was just fighting sleep so I asked Bryson if he wanted to go sing to her for me. Of course he says sure and skips off down the hall. I am on the other end of the house but listening on the monitor. I meant sing her a soft quiet song to help her fall back to sleep. The next thing I hear is this horribly loud banging noise (Bryson banging his hand on the side of the crib), a rattling noise (a baby rattle he found), and my sweet son singing Old McDonald had a farm at the top of his lungs. He was truly a one man band! He had the drums, the rattle, and he was the singer. I couldn't help but crack up. Of course, she didn't go back to sleep for quite a while after that performance.

Easter

It was an interesting morning around our house on Easter this year. It was Easter Sunday (which is a big enough deal) plus it was our first outing with Madelyn out of the house. Not to mention the fact that I can't fit into any clothes that I want to be wearing right now. I spent all afternoon Saturday trying on clothes and never did find anything I was satisfied with, but I refuse to buy clothes in this size right now. So, if you see me wearing the same outfit over and over again, pretend like you don't notice. I wanted everyone to be up and around early before we had to leave for church so we could take plenty of pictures. Well, as you can imagine getting myself and two children fed, cleaned up, and dressed was more of a challenge than I thought it would be. Whoever said having two children is not much different than having one is wrong. I couldn't get Bryson to get out of his Easter basket long enough to eat breakfast, I washed my hair and by the time I went to dry it it had already dried itself but looked terrible so I had to wet it down again, and Miss Madelyn wanted to be held this entire time for no apprent reason. I only got a few pictures but they turned out cute anyway. I'll be much more experienced at this when the next Easter rolls around.

My two precious and wonderful children.

Madelyn Grace Yeager

Madelyn Grace Yeager is finally here! She was born on Tuesday, March 31st at 4:04 p.m. She weighed 8 pounds and 3 ounces and was 18 inches long. She is short and chubby! She has lots of dark brown hair and her eyes are blue. I went in at 7:30 that morning, they broke my water at 9:00 a.m. and she was here 7 hours later. My delivery went absolutely wonderfully. It was all such a great and amazing experience and we feel so blessed to have our precious daughter.

Bryson loves his little sister. He holds her every night and sings songs to her and talks to her. It is precious to watch them together. I think he is going to be a big help for mommy.

Madelyn about 5 minutes after she was born being cleaned up. Look at those chubby cheeks!

They laid Madelyn on me as soon as she came out and let Brian cut the cord while I was holding her. One of the nursing students in the room took this picture for us. It was so amazing!
Brian feeding me ice chips about 2 hours before she was born. He was a great coach! I still felt pretty good at this point, good enough to stop and pose for a picture!
