Madelyn getting ear tubes

Madelyn got tubes in her ears today. She has been having trouble with her speech and the way she was pronouncing some words. So I took her and had her hearing tested and she did not pass the hearing test. So we went to see Dr. Boyd and he scheduled us right away to put tubes in. I am praying that it is just what she needs to feel better, be healthier, and starting hearing better! She did great. She was wanting to take her hospital bracelet off right away. She didn't even cry the whole time until we were leaving and we passed the cafeteria and she was screaming "Eat!" all the way to the car.
Smiling before the surgery. She like the tiger gown and playing in the bed. She was even jumping on the bed at first. She had no idea what she was in store for yet.
She took some syrup that made her really sleepy. It was so funny to watch her rolling around in the bed trying to fight off getting sleepy.

Christmas 2010

This is everyone at mom and dad's house on Christmas day. We had a lot of fun celebrating with Papa and Nana and all the cousins.
This is Brian's family on Christmas Eve in Westville. It was our first Christmas with Clay and Natalie married, and of course it is always so much fun to get Kainan and Madelyn together. They are only 2 days apart! We can't wait for the next new cousin to be with us next Christmas.
We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Bryson made his reindeer shirt at school in first grade which he was excited to wear. The face is his footprint and the antlers are his hands.
Madelyn loved her new babydoll and babydoll stroller. She kept saying, "baby" over and over again and hugging and kissing the baby. Then it wasn't 10 minutes after she played with the stroller that she herself was in it and stuck.
The kids got to see Santa on Christmas Eve. Bryson loves to see him every year, but Madelyn was not so sure about him this year. This is the only picture I have of her where she is not screaming and crying. I think she was only ok because her bubba was with her for this one.

Poor Bryson

Bryson was playing on the playground at school when he slipped and fell off the playground onto the wood chips - on his face! It looks horrible, and I felt terrible for him. It breaks my heart when my kids are hurt and there isn't a thing I can do but hold them until they feel better. He tried so hard to not cry too, but the poor thing couldn't help it. Trust me, the picture doesn't even do it justice either, it really looks bad in person. It broke my heart :( Then he gets embarassed because every single person that saw him today gasped and asks what happened when they saw him and he is so self-conscious about it that that didn't help either.

His face already looks better here, this is day 3 sporting the massive bruised face. I just hope it doesn't scar, poor thing. We keep calling him Rambo and he thinks that's kinda funny now. I told him to tell everyone that asks him about it, "you should see the other guy."

Kindergarten Graduation

Bryson's Kindergarten Graduation was on May 13th. It was so much fun! He looked so smart and handsome in his cap and gown. It was especially fun for me this year to have him be a part of graduation and to be doing it with my class too. He had a pretty big speaking part and he did great. He's such a little performer. He smiled the biggest smile after he said his part, it was precious. Lots of family came to watch him and made him feel extra special for the night.
Walking in to Graduation and smiling for the cameras already!

All the Graduates on the stage getting ready to start the show. We have 7 Kindergarten classes and there were 148 that graduated that night. It was huge!
Bryson saying his speaking part. He looks so serious.

There's the precious smile he did after he finished his part. He was so proud of himself for not messing up, and I was so proud of him too!
My little Kindergarten Graduate. I don't know what I am going to do next year when he is in first grade and he is not down the hall from me anymore! I am really going to miss it and it breaks my heart that he is growing up so fast. I wish I could slow down time for a little bit longer!

Madelyn's 1st Birthday

My baby girl is one year old! This past year has gone by so fast. She is such a sweet and precious girl. She absolutely loved demolishing her birthday cake and it was fun to watch her. I had to give her a bath when she was done, there weren't enough wet wipes in the house to do the trick. She is growing up so fast and doing more things every day. I am so blessed to have two such wonderful children. I absolutely love being a mom.

My friend Deanna bought her these birthday bloomers. They fit her so tightly poor thing! She is such a chunk. Brian and I call her our chunk of love :) Check out all those rolls! She loved playing in the bloomers all afternoon though.

Bryson's 6th Birthday

Bryson turned 6 years old on February 11th. I can't believe my boy is 6 already. He is such a blessing! I am amazed at how smart he is. He is also such a loving boy and he has such a big heart. Brian and I couldn't be more proud of him, he is a complete joy. He had a lot of fun celebrating his birthday at school with his class. I put a picture of him with his teacher Mrs. Puckett, he absolutely loves her! He also had a great birthday party. He and Reese shared their birthday party since she turned 5 on February 18th. We had their party at the Gymnastics Place and they both invited their friends and they had a blast. There were lots of kids there and everyone had so much fun. I also posted a picture of Bryson and his best friend in school this year Lyndsey. She also came to his party and they are not boyfriend/girlfriend for the record. They tell everyone they are JUST FRIENDS! They are so cute together.

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Madelyn was feeling soooo much better by Christmas Eve, so that was an answer to our prayers. This was at my mom and dad's house on Christmas morning with Bryson and my nephew and niece Kaden and Reese. They all play so good together, and of course they love to play with Madelyn. They were pushing her all around the house in that walker and she was loving every minute.Santa came to Brian's grandma's house on Christmas Eve. Bryson was very excited to see him but Madelyn was not quite so sure. She just kept looking at everyone else in the room like "Come get me please". She didn't cry though, she just wouldn't smile either.
The only family picture we could get where we were all four looking at the camera at the same time.
Brian and I relaxing after a long two eventful days. Hope everyone else had a very Merry Christmas this year!

Madelyn has RSV!

My baby girl in the hospital with bronchitis and rsv. Doesn't she look pitiful? I have to admit though, she looked so cute in that hospital gown. I hated that i.v. on her arm too, she didn't like it at all. She kept hitting it on everything and sometimes she would just look at it and start crying. It was so sad!
She couldn't stand the wires so of course she was constantly pulling at them, and even succeeded a few times. One of the nurses even told me one time, "You're going to have to watch her better." She had just pulled the wire off her foot again. I thought, lady I have been up here by myself watching her every second for a day now. I wanted to pull the wires off too by that point. You can't seriously expect an 8 month old not to pull on her wires at all! I really was doing my best.

Madelyn has been so congested lately. I have taken her to the doctor for it several times lately. I took her two weeks ago and they said she just had a little cold. Well, her cold never got better so I took her back on Wednesday at 2:30. They said she then had bronchitis and they sent me over to the hospital to test her for rsv. Sure enough, she tested positive and they admitted her right away. What a nightmare!!! It was so scary to watch her like that, and so hard to not be able to do anything to make her feel better. Brian stayed home with Bryson both nights so I was with her in the hospital both nights by myself. That was so hard! We got to come home on Friday and I have been giving her breathing treatments every 4 to 6 hours since then and she takes a steroid every day. She seems like she might be feeling better during the days, but the nights are still terrible. She isn't sleeping more than about an hour at a time without waking up coughing or crying. The albuterol in her breathing treatments hypes her up and so even in her sleep, she is moaning and groaning and moving all around. Please pray for my baby to get better soon!

Halloween

Bryson, my neice Reese, and my nephew Kaden getting candy at my grandmother's house. They love their nanny. Madelyn was crying pretty heavily by this point so she is behind the scene's for this one.

This is the one and only shot I have of Madelyn not crying in her costume. She is a ladybug, but not a happy one this year for some reason. Every time we'd try to take a picture she would pull her hat off or she was constantly pulling at the skirt and putting it up over her head, or else just crying her head off. I wonder why she didn't like being put in and out of the car all night and never even getting any candy anywhere we went? :)Bryson and my sweet nephew Kaden playing games at the mall for Mall-o-ween. Yes, Bryson is wearing a different costume. He had several costumes this year we just let him wear them all! He had a blast this Halloween.

Career Day

Last Friday we had career day in Kindergarten. We talked about Community Helpers and Careers all week. We had a policeman, fireman, and ambulance driver all come to the school and talk to the kids about their jobs. Well, Bryson's class learned about the planets in his Preschool class last year and he has said he wants to be an astronaut ever since. He really likes the planets and he could name them all last year and is really interested in space. So I got him an astronaut costume so he could wear it to school on career day and then he is going to be that again for Halloween. He was so excited to wear it and to tell his class about what he wants to be when he grows up. He loves school and we do such neat things in Kindergarten that he is always excited and looking forward to something. I think he looks handsome in his costume.
My future astronaut!
Why yes, that is Madelyn with me in my classroom at school on Career Day. Why you ask? Well, that morning I left my house at exactly 7:20 and headed to the babysitters house. Got to her turn off at 7:27 and realized it was flooded and had road blocks and there was no way to get my daughter to her babysitters house. I have to be at school and signed in at 7:45 so now I am panicking. I call my principal and explain the situation. I am then told to bring her to school with me until I can have someone come pick her up. So, I brought my 6 month old daughter to my Kindergarten class on Friday and she stayed with me for about an hour until Brian could leave work to come and get her. The kids loved her of course and the teachers kept stealing her from me so Madelyn was in Heaven. It ended up being ok, but let me tell you it was a stressful morning. I have such a helpful husband! I am so thankful for him everyday.
Madelyn loves Kindergarten already!

Fire Clowns

We took the Kindergarten classes to the civic center today to watch the fire clowns. The kids love their skit. They ask a teacher if she will send 3 or 4 or her students down to help out during the program and they asked Bryson's teacher Mrs. Puckett this year to pick some kids from her class. She picked Bryson and 3 other kids to go down. He got to go down to the floor and they asked him his name in the microphone and he said,"Bryson Ray Yeager". They asked him where he went to school and he said,"Hilldale Lower Elementary." and they asked him what grade he was in and he said,"Kindergarten College." It was precious. That is what we call it at Hilldale, Kindergarten College. The kids love that. Then he got to show everyone what he would do if his clothes caught on fire. So, he stopped, dropped, and rolled for everyone. He did great! He is usually a little stand-offish if he is going to be the center of attention like that, but today he loved every minute of it. He saw me watching him in the stands and waved at me and started blowing me kisses. I am so proud of him. He is doing awesome in school. We want our Kindergarteners to leave us at the end of the year reading on a level 4. Bryson is reading on a level 8 or 9 right now. He is unbelieveable! He's such a sweet kid, a total blessing.

Madelyn's 1st real food

Not sure what to think about these sweet peas. She just kept it all over her face at first and kept looking at me with a very strange look on her face. She warmed up to it after a few tries though.
This would be what happened after she realized that she did like this stuff, and I wasn't getting it to her fast enough. She would smile when I gave her a bite, then immediately start to cry when I took the spoon out of her mouth to get her more. It was so funny to watch.
Once again, we aren't quite sure what just happened. We aren't even sure if we enjoyed it or not. As you can tell, we don't miss any meals at our house, so I am sure she will eventually take a liking to the sweet peas or whatever else comes to the table! Bryson even fed her a few bites tonight which was funny to watch. He really enjoys helping me out!

1st day of Kindergarten!

Well, we survived the first day back to school. It was a very hard day for me. Brian had to take Madelyn to the babysitter for me and then take Bryson to his first day of Kindergarten. All while I was being a Kindergarten teacher myself to 24 Kindergarteners all day all by myself!!! Yes, it was a very emotionally challenging day. Bryson loved school of course, Madelyn didn't even know I was gone apparently, and I survived my crazy and hectic day. I truly do love my job, but it is sooooo hard at the beginning of the year. You forget how little they know at the beginning and just how much you actually do teach them. I forget when I say line up at the door, they have no idea what I am talking about and I have to actually put them in line physically at first. It is amazing what all they learn in this one year of life! It is so much fun having Bryson down the hall from me everyday and we get to come to school together and leave together. He says that is his favorite part about Kindergarten. On the first day when we were on the playground I kept hearing someone yelling "Mom" over and over and I finally saw Bryson waving at me! I completely forgot that I am mom at school now too. Then he heard the other kids calling me Mrs. Yeager and so the next day he passed me in the hall and he said, "Hi Mrs. Yeager, how are you today?" I couldn't stop laughing, it just made my day. This is going to be a fun year.

Branson 2009

We went to Branson this summer with Brian's brother Clay and his mom and dad. Bryson had so much fun. He loved Silver Dollar City and he wanted to ride Thunderation all day long! He also loved the Dixie Stampede. I think he loved swimming at the pool as much as anything though!
At Silver Dollar City

Bryson was almost tall enough to ride the rides by himself but not quite. That's ok, I think he really wanted someone to ride with him anyway!

Pictures by Noel

I took the kids to get their pictures taken for the first time since Madelyn was born a few weeks ago. Bryson is 5 1/2 in these pictures and Madelyn is 2 1/2 months old. I thought the pictures turned out really cute. The one above this is so good of Madelyn, she put her head up at just the right time. We couldn't get her to smile in any pictures, but she was awake and looking at the camera at least.
I really like this one of Bryson and Madelyn.
Me and my kiddos.
This one turned out really cute too. I love Bryson's handsome smile and she is looking right at the camera too. They both did so well.
We were all getting tired by the end so this one didn't turn out so well, but what more can I expect? We didn't have any crying, spitting up, or poop in the session at all so I called it a success! I remember some of Bryson's picture experiences and they weren't so successful! :)
